How to File a Complaint with the Insurance Ombudsman (Rules 13 & 14)
Prior Grievance Mandatory
Under Rule 14(3)(a), you must first represent your grievance in writing to the insurer's GRO. You can approach the Ombudsman only if the insurer rejects it or fails to resolve within 30 days.
1-Year Statutory Limitation
Under Rule 14(3)(b), the complaint must be filed within 1 year from the date of receipt of the insurer's rejection letter.
